Is there a Radiologist available for consultation?

Yes, we have a Radiologist available who will happily assist with any queries or concerns regarding any of your patients. Given the nature of our Radiologists work, they may be unavailable at the time of your call but will endeavour to return your call within the day.

How soon will I receive a report?

For routine scans, a report is sent within 1 business day. For urgent scans, a report is sent out the same day, often within the hour, depending on the urgency. Reports are available through the referring doctor’s medical practice software with an embedded link for direct image viewing. This eliminates the need for a third party software installation on your computer system, and there is no need for a further user name and password.

However, if a referrer prefers, you can also log into our Metro Images Online system to view the report and the images. Please call 1300 1 METRO (1300 163 876) for priority registration.

Do my patients have to pay?

The imaging scan requested may or may not attract a Medicare rebate and please consult our staff prior to the scan. All Medicare eligible X-ray, CT, Diagnostic Ultrasound (except Obstetrics) and Nuclear Medicine scans will be bulk-billed. A small gap-fee will be charged on Obstetric morphology and nuchal translucency Ultrasound scans, and Ultrasound or CT guided injection/biopsy. We will waive this gap-fee for all pensioners, health-care card holders and students.
